When the heat of the summer hits Hampton Roads and our many cities and country areas, lawns can suffer greatly. Here are a few tips to help you save your lawn.
1. Water regularly – Your lawn is a plant and needs water to survive. When the rain doesn’t fall you need to supply your lawn with some moisture.
2. Fertilize – A healthy lawn can survive the stress of a drought. Be sure to feed your lawn per the directions or have a professional feed it.
3. Cut – When mowing your grass, be sure your blades are very sharp. While it may seem like it saves time to cut your lawn shorter, it is best to only remove 1/3 of each blade of grass. This will keep your lawn healthy and keep the weeds out.
